  • Wednesday, October 19, 2022
  • Saturday, April 01, 2023
  • Online

The Accreditation Process Workshop course is an online, self-paced course. This workshop will guide the participant in how to meet the requirements for obtaining and maintaining accreditation through ACA.

How to Gain Access to Online Course:

Step 1:

Click here to register for the Accreditation Process Workshop with the national ACA office.

Step 2:

Upon course completion, participants who are with an ACA Illinois accredited camp must register and attend an online, live Accreditation Process Workshop: Follow Up for ACA Illinois Accredited Camps. These courses are held monthly. Course completion requires both completion of the online course AND attendance at an Accreditation Process Workshop: Follow Up for ACA Illinois Accredited Camps. Once participants have completed both requirements, they will receive a completion of requirements confirmation from ACA Illinois

Who should attend?

The person responsible for the camp. This may be the Camp Director, ED/CEO, or another individual. Others that may attend include the personnel that oversee program areas, aquatics, health care, trips, facilities, etc. Having other team members gain an understanding of the process and requirements, will help during the annual accreditation report or visit process.

Why Attend?

Career Advancement: The ACA Accreditation Program is a nationally recognized program. Current and future employers see folks who have been trained in the Accreditation Process Workshop to have a high level of comprehension of the requirements to ensure that camps provide a safe and healthy experience.

Camp Advancement: Staying up-to-date on the process and requirements for the Accreditation Program is essential to maintaining accreditation. Don’t be surprised at the last minute; but rather stay ahead of the work by being prepared.

Accreditation: The person at each camp that is responsible for program and operational oversight must have completed the Accreditation Process Workshop within the last 3 years. Attending will ensure that the camp director or other designated person is up to date on process requirements to maintain (or apply for) accreditation, has access to resources/tools, and understands timelines and deadlines.
