Accreditation Courses & Education
ACA Illinois hosts a robust selection of courses to help camps prepare and maximize their Accreditation.
PRO TIP: Camps that have multiple people attend these courses report having a more successful visit, a stronger culture of compliance to the standards among their staff, and increased ability to delegate the work. We encourage you to invite your leadership team, coworkers, and team members who supervise areas (nurses, waterfront directors, cooks, etc.) to attend so that they can better understand the purpose and process of Accreditation related to their work.
Accreditation Process Workshop
The Accreditation Process Workshop is traditionally a four-hour in person seminar. This year, the course content will be presented in 2, 2-hour modules. Modules are offered monthly, so you can choose the module session that fits into your schedule.
These interactive virtual seminars will cover the course material while allowing space to reflect between sessions so you can get all of your questions answered and minimize Zoom-overload.
The Modules will be live, synchronous sessions so you’ll still get a chance to connect with instructors, staff, and fellow camp professionals just like in past years.
Module 1: Introduction, Understanding the Accreditation Process Guide, and Non-Visit Year Information
Module 2: Preparing for a Visit, Review
*Attendees must complete both modules by March 1.
Associate Visitor Course
Visitors are an incredible way to volunteer for ACA and get hands on, valuable, Professional Development. Visitors are the ones who are implementing the accreditation program, and providing camps with continuing education.
We invite you to attend this years presentation of the Associate Visitor Course. This course is presented weekly, over 5 weeks, all virtually.
