About This Event…

So you’re a new supervisor! Congratulations. You clearly were great at your old job – that’s how you got promoted. However, the skills and talents required to be a great counselor or activity instructor aren’t the same as those required to be an effective supervisor. There are several specific areas of learning new supervisors should begin mastering long before they begin the actual work of mentoring and leading others.

Join Emily for a crash course in stepping up to leadership. We’ll cover the top mistakes new supervisors make (and how to avoid them, of course!), the best ways to build credibility, and the parts of the role you might not realize are now your responsibility.

To cap it off, we’ll look at some familiar scenarios from your camp counselor days through a lens of supervisory decision-making. This workshop is designed for both new supervisors and/or those responsible for onboarding/training incoming supervisory staff.
