About This Training...

Brush up on how to prepare for and maintain your camp’s ACA Accreditation. This free, virtual presentation of the Accreditation Process Workshop is open to everyone! Send your leadership staff, office staff, and even future camp pros so that your whole team can help in the process. 

Participants will leave feeling excited, engaged, and ready to prepare for an accreditation visit. We’ll cover the steps in the visit timeline and the responsibilities of the camp and the visitors, as well as how to maintain Accreditation in a non-Visit year. We will practice navigating the 2019 Accreditation Process Guide, and learn how to understand compliance and applicability of standards. We’ll go over all of the most current revisions and updates, and you’ll learn where to find and how to use the information, resources, and technology provided by the American Camp Association.

Modules

This workshop consists of 2 modules. These interactive virtual seminars will cover all of the material from the traditional course while allowing space to reflect between sessions so you can get all of your questions answered and minimize Zoom-overload. Each Module will run 120 minutes and will be a live, synchronous session so you’ll still get a chance to connect with instructors, staff, and fellow camp professionals just like in past years.

By registering for this event, you are committing to attend both modules.

Modules are intended to be completed in order. Module 1 must be completed before Module 2. Attendees must complete both modules by March 1, 2022. 

Who Should Attend...

  • Every camp scheduled for a visit in 2022 must send at least one person who will be working on the accreditation process to the workshop.
  • Camps who are bridging to the Accreditation Process Guide v 2019 from the 2012 edition.
  • New Camp Directors, new Executive Directors, or new people in leadership roles at ACA Accredited camps should attend a workshop before the summer.
  • Camp staff who may help with the Accreditation process are encouraged to attend.
  • Anyone who would like to become an Accreditation Visitor should start by taking this course.
  • ​Anyone interested in learning more about becoming an Accredited camp can attend!
