About This Event...

The pandemic has changed everything: But not our tenacity or ability to innovate for success! ACA Illinois presents a powerhouse team of Michael and Travis, known for their practical solutions and techniques, with an online collection of outstanding practices to handle the challenges and uncertainties we will face in an internet-dominated 2021. This dynamic, unique learning opportunity is for all camp professionals throughout the U.S. and Canada, if you are in a leadership position now and planning in “up in the air” times, or you’re looking for a position and want to be indispensable. Whether you’re preparing for in-person camp, online camp, or any other format, including “Who knows?!?!”, you’ll get essential methods for:

  • Building a year-round camp community even when we’re not face-to-face
  • Making your marketing work in bizarre times: Things Every Camp Can Do
  • Adaptive interviewing, recruitment, and selection for great staff in a pandemic world
  • “How do we solve this?!”—Creating a culture of creativity, flexibility, and responsible decision-making for fast change and problem-solving
  • Keeping eyes on the true target: specific ways to make sure we are focused on using camp for intentional youth development and not just activities, whether online or face-to face
  • And more!

This is a two-day, 4.5-hour experience. Day One will be a live presentation of techniques—everyone attends. Day Two is an optional live session in which Travis and Michael will facilitate opportunities to actively apply and practice the Day One techniques, connect and discuss with others in specific topic breakout groups, get questions answered, and cooperate and share ideas with colleagues.
